Naveen Jain: Bearer of Hope
Prior to graduating from the prestigious XLRI Jamshedpur M.B.A class of 1982, Naveen Jain stood out as a BS Engineering student at the Indian Institute of Technology (1975-1979). An exceptional individual, he has garnered numerous awards over the years for his technological expertise, business acumen as well as his philanthropic commitment. In one issue, Information Week hailed the Albert Einstein Technology Medal Winner as one of the “6 People Who Will Change the Net.” Naveen Jain was also named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Red Herring’s select Top 20 Entrepreneurs.
Beyond being recognized for these, he has also been lauded for his efforts dedicated to the betterment of society. An honoured donor of the Avondale Park Campaign, he has also been actively part of Hopelink’s other projects such as the Reaching Out Luncheon and End Summer Hunger Campaign 2008. Recently, he was honoured at Overlake Service League’s 10th Annual “Step Up to the Plate” Luncheon.
Great leaders are those who can demand the same from those he influences. With Naveen Jain as an excellent role model, Intelius was American Business Award’s Best New Company, while its IDWatch service was a WSA Industry Achievement awardees. Intellius, a pioneering information resource company, was founded and headed by CEO Jain ever since its inception in 2003. In its first few years of operations, the company has risen to the hit lists of the both the technology and information sectors.
Many of his beneficiaries are also further assisted by Intelius through its HR programs that encourage all employees to give to notable causes as well. For instance, the company’s April-July collaboration and sponsorship to end hunger through Hopelink’s annual program fed around 11,000 children who came from less fortunate backgrounds in north and east King County.
For his many beneficiaries, and for his employees as well, Jain is certainly a bearer of hope.
